DR. R.C. Titus
A Brief Bio:
Dr. Ron Titus is the founder and CEO of Wayfinder Education, an innovative leader and coach committed to fostering emotional resilience and integrating faith into education. Raised in North Platte, Nebraska, in a family of six children, his upbringing instilled values of perseverance and resourcefulness, shaping his holistic approach to education.
Currently serving as the Chair of the School of Education and Director of a Lab School at Southern Nazarene University, Dr. Titus is also a Professor of Educational Psychology. He seamlessly integrates educational psychological theory, project-based learning, and social-emotional learning into his teaching, emphasizing mastery, autonomy, and purpose. His methods focus on research-based strategies that support the well-being and growth of both students and teachers.
Dr. Titus's leadership extends to advocating for students with special needs and supporting school choice, championing diverse learning environments that meet individual student needs. He is a proponent of experiential learning, encouraging the integration of project-based and social-emotional learning in educational settings. He believes these methods help students engage deeply with subjects in a manner that echoes the philosophical insights of Aristotle and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Outside the classroom, Ron enjoys reading, composing music, and experimenting with new technologies. He lives by Romans 12:2, embracing transformation and seeking to discern God’s will in his life and work.
Ron lives in Oklahoma City with his son Elijah — and a cat who believes he is "the great lion" Aslan, from CS Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia series.
