About this book.

A student’s performance is evidence to understand, not a complete account of who that student is.

Evidence Without Reduction invites Christian educators to examine how they ask questions, interpret learning, and decide what to do next. It attends to the conditions surrounding performance, the limits of an observation, and the perspectives that may be missing from an apparently clear result.

The purpose is not to abandon assessment or replace evidence with good intentions. It is to make responsible judgments while keeping those judgments open to correction. What does the evidence support? What does it leave uncertain? What response would help the learner without claiming more than we know?

Written for teachers and educational leaders seeking a humane and intellectually responsible approach to assessment, this volume develops Assessment within the seven-book Wayfinder Educational Architecture. It brings the obligation to act into conversation with the humility to keep listening.
