About this book.

What does a commitment to whole-person formation become in the next classroom encounter?

Embodied Practice explores how Christian educational commitments take shape in ordinary actions, relationships, routines, and responses. It asks educators to attend closely to the learner and the situation before reaching for an explanation or a technique.

The book connects educational episodes with patterns of participation over time. It considers learner agency, responsive action, the traces that practice leaves, student-owned longitudinal portfolios, and the relationship between assessment, reflection, and calling. Formation is not treated as something an educator can manufacture or possess.

For Christian teachers and school leaders who need to connect a coherent vision with lived educational work, these pages offer a way to notice, act, remember, and reconsider. Book 5 of the seven-book Wayfinder Educational Architecture develops Practice while remaining open to what learners, evidence, and experience ask educators to learn next.
