Room to Listen

5 daysBy Dr. R. C. Titus

Listening requires room, and room can be difficult to find in a crowded life. These five readings move through Elijah’s weariness, the quiet at Horeb, the refuge of Psalm 46, Samuel’s response, and Jesus’ image of the shepherd. Together they invite a thoughtful rhythm of pausing, receiving, discerning, and acting. You do not need to force a spiritual experience. Begin with the attention available to you, grounded in Scripture and open to wise companionship.

Step back from unnecessary noise, listen with patience, receive God’s presence, respond to what is clear, and grow in discerning the Shepherd’s way.Read slowly. Return whenever you need.
